Myrtle Beach police investigate gunshots being fired

— Myrtle Beach police investigated a shooting Sunday afternoon along Maple Street, according to a police report.

Officers were called to the area of Fourth Avenue North and Maple Street about 3:30 p.m. Sunday for gunshots being fired, police said.

Officers met with witnesses in the neighborhood, who told police that that they saw two men running from the area after hearing gunshots, according to the report. The witnesses told police they saw the men shooting at another man, who lives in a nearby apartment complex.

Officers found bullet shell casings in the area where the witnesses reported the shooting occurred, according to the report. Officers were not able to find the victim in the shooting, so it was unknown if he had been hurt.

Officers did find three bullet holes in an apartment building in the area, according to the report. The incident is under investigation.
