A Myrtle Beach man will serve 15 years in prison for burglarizing a church, according to a release from the 15th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Maurice Wallace Ward, 51, was found guilty by a jury on Tuesday for second degree burglary of the Freewill Baptist Church in Conway.
Ward, according to the release, entered the church on Aug. 14, 2010 without consent and with the intent to steal personal items from the building.
Officers found DNA that matched Ward’s on a broken window where police believe he entered the church.
Circuit Court Judge Larry Hyman sentenced Ward to the maximum sentence carried by second degree burglary.
