McAlister’s Deli plans to open its fourth location along the Grand Strand by next summer in the North Myrtle Beach area.
An exact location for the eatery, which will feature the same food but a slightly more refined interior design than the other area McAlister’s, hasn’t yet been set, said Dale Mulvey, the franchisee who owns the other area McAlister’s and several others in South Carolina and Georgia.
“There are a couple of very nice developments coming up in the North Myrtle area,” he said.
McAlister’s, a “fast-casual” chain known for its sandwiches and iced tea, has three locations along the Grand Strand: 1760 Pine Island Road across from Coastal Grand mall, 1000 S. Commons Road at South Strand Commons off U.S. 17 Bypass and 10736 Kings Road.
“We really feel like there is a strong opportunity north,” Mulvey said.
Mulvey’s group, DMAC81, took over the local McAlister’s locations five years ago during the Great Recession, and has been impressed with how Myrtle Beach and his restaurants rebounded.
“We’ve grown right out of that along with Myrtle Beach overall,” Mulvey said.
More locations likely will come in future years as the area continues to build out, he said.
“I just like the way the future looks,” Mulvey said.
