MYRTLE BEACH — A bridge crew is installing a temporary bridge over Hog Inlet in North Myrtle Beach until the permanent bridge is replaced, according to city officials.
The bridge is on 52nd Avenue North in Cherry Grove and officials with the S.C. Department of Transportation estimate it will take 12 weeks to complete the installation of the temporary bridge.
The road is expected to reopen to traffic in early December, according to a news release from Pat Dowling, city spokesman. The temporary bridge is expected to remain in place until a permanent bridge on 53rd Avenue North is replaced in 2014.
