MYRTLE BEACH — A taxi driver told Myrtle Beach police that he was robbed at gunpoint after he took two men to a beach access in the city, according to a police report.
The 38-year-old victim told officers that he picked up the men and took them to the beach access at 11th Avenue South about 3 a.m. Monday, police said.
The victim said when he told the men the cost of the ride, one man acted like he was getting money out of his pocket and the other man pointed a gun at him and demanded money, according to the report. The other man then took the keys out of the taxi and demanded the driver’s money.
The victim said the men took his cellphone and $200 cash before they ran toward the beach, according to the report.
