MYRTLE BEACH — A 30-year veteran of HCA has been named the interim chief executive officer at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, replacing Doug White, who has led the hospital for 18 years and whose retirement officially begins Sunday.
White announced his intention to retire in July.
Hugh Wilson has served as CEO of several HCA hospitals, most recently at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany, Ga. He holds a bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from Auburn University and a master of science in health services administration from the College of St. Francis in Nashville, Tenn.
Wilson will remain at Grand Strand’s top post until a permanent CEO is hired.
