— A homeless woman told police she was assaulted by a homeless man, but “couldn’t bring herself,” to stab him with the knife she was holding, according to an incident report.

James Rickey Jones, 55, is charged with kidnapping and third degree assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct.

Jones and the woman were in the woods off 100 Ye Olde Kings Highway in North Myrtle Beach when the woman said Jones pulled her close to him and fondled her, the report said.

The woman was holding a knife throughout the 10 minute struggle, but did not use it, police said.

According to the report, the woman was crying when she called police and the dispatcher heard a male say, “Be still, I won’t hurt you,” while the woman stated multiple times that she wanted to leave and asked to be let go.
