— A Myrtle Beach woman was charged with attempted murder Monday for allegedly stabbing her mother in the back after “hearing voices.”

Amber Sunshine Manning, 33, of Pinegrove Drive was charged in connection with an incident about 2 a.m. Monday investigated by a Myrtle Beach police officer.

The officer responded to the home on a medical call and met the victim, who told him her daughter had stabbed her in the back while saying “I’m going to kill you.”

The officer went to the kitchen, where he asked Manning, “What is going on tonight?”

A police report states that Manning answered, “I heard voices and I stabbed her.”

Manning was then taken into custody. Her mother was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center for treatment.
