Myrtle Beach police charge teen in sexual assault

— Myrtle Beach police charged a teen in connection with a sexual assault of a minor in the city last month, according to police reports.

Elyus Malcolm Lively, 19, of Myrtle Beach was taken into custody at 9:44 a.m. Thursday in the area of Fourth Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard on a charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to an arrest report.

Officers found Lively at a local motel and when they checked the National Crime Information Center they learned he was wanted in the city on an outstanding warrant, according to the report.

Police were notified on Aug. 29 that between 5 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. that day that two juveniles, who had run away from home, were in a motel room in the 3000 block of North Ocean Boulevard, according to an incident report. Officers learned that the sexual assault had occurred.
