MYRTLE BEACH — A 31-year-old Myrtle Beach man was charged Wednesday afternoon in connection with a 30-year-old woman being hit with a wooden brush and had her bra ripped from her during a domestic assault, according to police.
Jonnie Dewayne Bellamy, 31, of Myrtle Beach was charged with criminal domestic violence after officers were called about 1 p.m. Wednesday to 1750 Greens Blvd., for the incident, police said.
Officers found the victim sitting outside the apartment with her face covered in blood, her nose and eye was swollen, according to the report. The victim told police she lives with Bellamy and they had dated for more than a year.
The victim said the fought a few days ago and she attempted to leave Wednesday, but when she asked Bellamy to help her find her keys he got upset and punched her in the face, according to the report. The victim said she pushed him away, ran toward the door and he threw a wooden brush and hit her.
The victim said Bellamy grabbed her and punched her several times and ripped her bra off of her as he pulled her back into the apartment, according to the report. The victim said she screamed and Bellamy stopped assaulting her when another man yelled for him to stop.
The other man was a neighbor who reported hearing a woman scream and saw Bellamy on top of her and was punching her in the head, according to the report. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of multiple facial fractures.
Bellamy was taken into custody about an hour later in the area.
