Georgetown police are investigating a fight that involved the firing of a gun at the intersection of North Congdon and Duke Street, said Capt. Nelson Brown.
The fight occurred about 3 p.m. Thursday between five individuals. One person fired a handgun twice, but no one was injured by a bullet, Brown said.
Three of the individuals fled the scene in a tan Ford Explorer headed towards Pawleys Island. Deputies with the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office stopped the car at Martin Luther King Road where they were detained and transferred back to Georgetown.
All five people were interviewed by officers resulting in the arrest of two, Brown said.
Joseph L. Allen and Jimmy Dale Cagle, both of Georgetown, are charged with one count each of first-degree assault and battery and second-degree assault and battery.
