Re: Mande Wilkes Aug. 25 op-ed column, “My son won't be a US soldier”
I don't know who is worse, Jane “the traitor” Fonda or Mande Wilkes? In WW I, 106,000 and WW II 405,000, individuals gave their lives so she could write such a despicable piece.
She obviously does not know or consider the fact that the President of the United State is the Commander-in-Chief of all our Armed Forces. They therefore, are mandated to follow his orders and thereby put their lives at risk in doing so.
At age 78 and only seven when war was declared, I deeply regret I was too young to serve my country. To those of the “Greatest Generation,” I salute you and am deeply grateful for your service. If you can, forgive this woman who knows not of what she speaks.
I was very proud and honored to wear a uniform in later life and would be even more so for my grandchildren to do likewise. In my view there is no higher calling than serving your country.
God bless America and I pray He will continue to grace our country in spite of our leaders who would have us turn our backs on Him.
