A 51-year-old Murrells Inlet woman has been identified as the body that was found in a pond at Salters Cover this morning.
Horry County Police say Christina “Tina” Hennis was found floating in a shallow retention pond shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday.
“The death appears accidental,” said Lt. Robert Kegler. “There are no signs of trauma or foul play. Official cause of death is pending toxicology report.”
Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said county officials still need to determine what Hennis was doing before she was found in the pond to determine the cause of death.
“It’s going to take the full autopsy to determine the cause,” Willard said.
She said Hennis had recently moved to the area, which is where her boyfriend lived.
