Horry County police have arrested a woman who reported earlier this month that she shot and killed her husband after he stabbed her during a fight between them.
Police said Friday that Heather Sims, 30, is charged with murder.
The incident happened on the evening of Aug. 11, at the couples home on Old Reaves Ferry Road. Police responded to the home for a reported shooting and stabbing. When officers arrived they found Sims with wounds from a sharp object and 35-year-old David Sims Jr. dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Police were told that during an altercation between couple the woman was stabbed and the man shot. An investigation by Horry County Police Departments Major Crimes Unit led to an arrest warrant being issued on Friday for Heather Sims.
Police said Sims turned herself in to authorities and was being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Friday.
