A small kitchen fire sent to restaurant employees to the hospital and briefly delayed two flights Friday morning at Myrtle Beach International Airport, according to authorities.
The fire was reported about 5:30 a.m. Friday inside Nacho Hippo, which is located inside the airport terminal, said Kirk Lovell, airport spokesman. Two employees working inside the restaurant were treated for smoke inhalation.
The terminal was evacuated for about 10 to 20 minutes while emergency crews were investigating the incident, Lovell said. Two flights were delayed for about 20 minutes.
At 7:30 a.m. Friday, Lovell said the airport and restaurant were open and operational with no delays being reported.
