Myrtle Beach man reports being shot at while standing on second-floor balcony

A 24-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police another man shot at him while he was standing on a second-floor balcony, according to a police report.

The victim told officers that about 2 p.m. Thursday a man he had never seen before shot at him as the gunman walked west on 12th Avenue North, police said. The gunman then ran away.

The victim told police the person shot once at him and the victim dropped to the floor in the hallway outside his room at 301 12th Ave. N., according to the report. The victim said he had never seen the gunman before and didn’t know why he was being shot at.

Officers found a bullet hole in the door of a room at the location and then found a bullet striation in the ceiling of the room, according to the report. Police are investigating the incident.
