— A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a gun incident at a Murrells Inlet bar in July, according to authorities.

Georgetown County sheriff’s investigators charged Richard Allen Skimmyhorn, 26, of Murrells Inlet with two counts of pointing and presenting a firearm at the Beaver Bar, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded around 4:45 a.m. July 27 to the bar on U.S. 17 Business, where they were informed that several gun shots had been fired in the parking lot of the business, according to the report. The victim told deputies he was engaged in a discussion with two individuals inside the bar. As the victim later exited the establishment, he said one of the individuals he was having a discussion with was outside and displayed a handgun and fired several rounds.

Skimmyhorn was identified as the individual who displayed and fired the handgun, the report said.
