Myrtle Beach police investigate gunshots being fired in the city

Myrtle Beach police were called after residents reported hearing gunshots being fired early Sunday in the city, according to a police report.

Officers were called about 4:15 a.m. Sunday to the area of Third Avenue North and Oak Street for gunshots being fired, police said.

Officers found two witnesses and some shell casings, according to the report. One witness told police she was walking her dog when she heard several shots fired and she saw a vehicle leaving the area.

A man, who told police he was on his porch when he saw the vehicle and a person shooting, but he did not know what the person was shooting at, according to the report. No other details were listed in the report.
