A man died and another was injured in a hit-and-run crash at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Tyshawn Johnson, 21, of Marion was pronounced dead at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler. Johnson died from multiple blunt trauma due to being struck by a motor vehicle, Fowler said.
Police are looking for a newer model Nissan Pathfinder SUV who they say was involved in a hit and run collision at about 3 a.m. Saturday.
The S.C. Highway Patrol said the collision was between a moped and the SUV, according to a press release. The moped was struck and the riders received life-threatening injuries by the SUV that fled the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 501 near the old Waccamaw Pottery Bridge in Myrtle Beach. Police say the vehicle is silver or white in color, with noticeable damage to the left front of the vehicle.
