MYRTLE BEACH — A 57-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police he was hit in the head twice by a man, who became “enraged after he believed the victim was being disrespectful,” according to a police report.
Officers found the victim disoriented and stumbling through the park at Withers Swash Drive about 9 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
The victim told police the 65-year-old suspect, who is a friend, got upset during an argument and hit the victim with a large stick or log, according to the report. The victim said he was hit twice in the head before he fell to the ground and hit his head again on the concrete and passed out.
The victim suffered a severe cut to his head and a broken rib, according to the report. EMS took the victim to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
No warrants had been issued for the suspect.
