CONWAY — A Conway man was indicted on a charge of murder in connection with a fatal shooting of a 38-year-old man last September, according to court records.
Shackeel Aaron Coleman, 22, of Conway was indicted on a charge of murder in the Sept. 21 shooting death of David Jermaine Williams, according to indictments released Monday.
Coleman was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 3:47 a.m. Sept. 22 and released at 12:14 p.m. Oct. 5 on $30,000 bail, according to jail records.
Horry County police were called at 9:35 p.m. Sept. 21 to Tidway Circle in the Conway area for a shooting. When officers arrived at the location they found Williams, who was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries that included being shot multiple times in the upper body.
Horry County police detectives began their investigation and learned that Coleman went to the home after he learned his mother and Williams had argued over property, police said. Information about the property was not listed in the press release.
Detectives learned that Coleman came into the residence armed with a handgun and shot the victim, police said. Coleman was at the home when police arrived and taken into custody there.
A records check with the State Law Enforcement Division showed that Coleman does not have a previous record.
