Conway man located, charged in swindling cases

— A man suspected in three swindling incidents was located and charged Friday, according to authorities.

Eric Moultrie, 46, of Conway was charged with two counts of breach of trust and one count breach of trust Over $10,000, according to a news release from Catina Hipp, public information officer for the Conway Police Department. Moultrie was located by a Florence County sheriff’s officer during a traffic stop Friday morning and was transported to the Horry County Detention Center.

Moultrie approached two separate residences on June 24, asking for money to pressure wash the houses and saying he needed cash in advance to purchase supplies, the release said. Moultrie was given money on both occasions but never returned. Moultrie also was employed on July 24 to wash a vehicle and return the vehicle to the owner by 9:30 a.m. The victim said that as of noon Wednesday, her vehicle had not been returned, and she had been unable to contact Moultrie.
