Bank’s refusal to accept coins baffles account holder

July 26, 2013

What world am I in?

Recently, I took the coins in the “piggly bank” to deposit in my checking account.

They would not accept them because:

1.They had to be in rolls.

2.Teller said they didn’t have a coin counting machine – really.

When I pointed out that they were a bank, I had an account, that these were U.S. coins – what gives?

P.S. It cost me 9.8 percent to convert the coins into currency at a grocery store machine.
