The Pepper Geddings all-star squad has been dominant in its district tournament to say the least; they’ve outscord oppents 42-0 over their three games so far.

They defeated the Florence Pals 11-0 in their first game, Carolina Forest 21-0 on Wednesday and Myrtle Beach American 10-0 on Thursday to advance to the district final.

They will face off against Darlington on Friday in Kingstree at 6 p.m. for the chance to represent District V in the state tournament. If canceled due to possible rain, the game will be rescheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m.

Carolina’s Women’s Match Play Championship

Katie Rose Higgins of Charleston won her second Carolinas Women’s Match Play Championship title of 2013 by defeating Katie Kirk of Davidson, N.C., 3 and 2. Higgins, who attends the University of South Carolina, won her semifinal match against Taylor Allison of Elizabeth City, N.C. Higgins carded four birdies and closed e out her morning match by a 6 and 5 margin.

In the other semifinal match Katie Kirk had to face off against her East Carolina University teammate Lane Gakeler of Greensboro, N.C. Kirk won after 21 holes

Higgins won the finals match in 15 holes.

CAC championship

Zach Seabolt of Raleigh, N.C. and Trace Crowe of Easley each carded a two-under 70s to share a one-shot lead after the first round of the Carolinas Amateur Championship at Kiawah Island Golf Resot. Only four players were able to break par at The Ocean Course which greeted players with steady 20 MPH winds throughout the day.

Defending champion Carson Young, of Pendleton, shot a six-over 78 and is tied for 42nd place.
