— The state of S.C. is offering emergency rental assistance to low-income seniors aged 60 and older.

The program is for short-term assistance only, but can help seniors temporarily by providing rent that will be sent directly to the property owner or landlord.

To be eligible, an applicant must be at least 60 years old, rent or lease in S.C. and have a gross household income at or below 150 percent of current guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Those in Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties who wish to apply should call Amanda Stoveken at 843-546-8502.
