— A 38-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police he was robbed by four men and two women after he met them under a pier on the beach and they drank from a gallon bottle of vodka and smoked marijuana, according to a police report.

The victim called officers about 2 a.m. Wednesday to report he had been under the 14th Avenue pier with the people drinking and smoking when the robbery occurred, police said.

The victim said the people physically attacked him, stole the bottle of vodka and his wallet, which contained $540 cash, according to the report. The victim had fresh bruises on his face, but because of his level of intoxication he could not provide other details about the people who robbed him.

Detectives plan to talk to the victim later about the robbery.
