— Myrtle Beach police charged a 46-year-old Lake City man in connection with the robbery of a woman who had her baby in a restaurant parking lot, according to authorities.

Frederick Douglas Mouzone, 46, was booked into the Myrtle Beach Jail Tuesday afternoon after he was arrested Monday in the Florence area, according to an arrest report.

Myrtle Beach police charged Mouzone with armed robbery in connection with the Oct. 31 robbery of a woman who said she was robbed of her purse and cellphone in the parking lot of Mellow Mushroom at 1571 21st Ave. N., as she put her infant into a car seat.

The victim said she didn’t see a weapon, but the suspect had his hand in his pocket and suggested he had a gun, according to the report. The woman said the suspect took her purse and cell phone and turned to walk away.

The woman said her boyfriend walked up and the suspect gave him the cellphone, but ran away with her purse, according to the report. Officers used a K-9 unit and tracked the suspect to Quail Marsh apartment complex, but did not find him at that time.
