— A 26-year-old Myrtle Beach man was charged in connection with a 19-year-old woman being assaulted after the man argued with his father, according to a police report.

Dustin Collin Niemann, 26, of Myrtle Beach was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature after officers took him into custody at 7:11 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report.

Officers were called at 2 a.m. Friday to 2808 S. Ocean Blvd., for an assault and learned a 19-year-old woman was slapped, punched and choked, police said. The victim told officers she was sitting in Niemann’s father’s room when Niemann and his father argued.

The victim said Niemann got angry with her for no apparent reason and assaulted her while she was on a mattress in the floor, according to the report. The victim said Niemman’s father tried to help her, but could not because of a handicap.

The victim said a neighbor came into the room and yelled at Niemann, which allowed her to get away from him, according to the report. Niemann had left the room before police arrived and officers did not find him in the area.

The victim was taken by EMS to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, according to the report.
