— James Smith, coach of the Myrtle Beach Riptides swim team, has been chosen for the second straight year to coach the S.C. All-Stars in a southern regional swim meet to be held in Greenville, according to a news release.

The regional meets are sponsored by USA-Swimming, the national governing for the sport of swimming.

State teams in the regionals are allowed to pick the top 48 swimmers to compete. More than 600 are expected at the six-day event in Greenville.

The meet will mark the first time in more than 10 years that South Carolina has hosted the regional event.
