— Horry County police charged a 21-year-old Conway man in connection with a 19-year-old woman reporting she was raped while visiting a friend, according to a police report.

Victoriano Gorge Carranza, 21, of Conway was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 9:31 a.m. Sunday on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to jail records. He was being held there at 11 a.m. Monday pending a bond hearing.

Officers were called to Conway Medical Center at Sunday where the victim was being treated, according to the report. The victim told officers she had went to a home in the 7200 block of Dorchester Road to visit a female friend.

The victim said during the night the friend left and she was left alone with Carranza, whose parents were sleeping in their room, according to the report. The victim said Carranza tried to kiss her and when she told him to stop, he threw her down, hit her head and took her clothing off and raped her.

The victim said she called her parents to come get her, according to the report. The victim said Carranza sat on a 10-week-old child, who was sleeping on the couch in the living room of the home.

The victim suffered scratches on her head and neck and the baby was taken to the hospital to be checked and was fine, according to the report. Police found Carranza sleeping inside the home and took him into custody. Officers also found women’s clothing inside Carranza’s room and took the items as evidence.
