Letter | Deen TV coverage distracts us from what’s really important

June 25, 2013

My letter appears to go from one extreme to another, but this is how I feel.

Darn you Paula Deen. I cannot sleep thinking about what you did. The shame! Just the same as I could not sleep when I heard Sherman Helmsley and Redd Fox and Wesley Snipes and Jamie Foxx and Arsenio Hall and countless others make racial statements about white people.

How could this happen? It was endless. The hours that CNN and HLN and FOX had to endure to bring this spectacle to light. The panels of experts needed to inform and guide us are unbelievable. They have all the answers.

The therapy and counseling we need. How can we help ourselves? Here's how. the TV media news is distracting us from every other thing that is going on in this great country of ours. There are too many news readers, not reporters, telling us what is important to them to increase the ratings.

Our soldiers are dying defending this great free country of hours. Black, white, hispanic and all others are working to preserve our liberties.

The TV media is destroying us. Mark my words. Just wait until Florida blows up when the verdict is read in the Martin/Zimmerman case. More News. More trouble. More entertainment. More Nancy Grace.

There are terrorist organizations out there looking to take us out. This great country has always stood tall. We need to focus on our American life. Not the high-paid opinions of those who try to sway us from the right thing.

Or maybe we should do what the TV media does. Let's ask the panel.
