Governor to visit Horry County for gun manufacturer relocation announcement Monday

June 22, 2013

— Gov. Nikki Haley is scheduled to participate in an economic development announcement with PTR Industries at what will be its South Carolina location, 101 Cool Springs Drive, Aynor.

Haley will be joined by Congressman Tom Rice and other state and county leaders at the announcement scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Officials from the company will be on hand to discuss their plans for the gun manufacturing facility, which is relocating from Connecticut.

The firm has committed to creating 80 jobs in the first year and up to 56 people will be hired locally by sometime in 2014.

PTR has agreed to have 145 total employees in Horry County by Dec. 31, 2016, at an average wage of $19.39 an hour including overtime, bonuses and other forms of monetary payment, according to an agreement included in a resolution approved by the Horry County Council on Tuesday night.
