Police in Aynor were led on a chase Wednesday afternoon, said Police Chief Bubba Thompson.

Thompson said he attempted to stop a vehicle for a seatbelt violation near 7th Avenue in the town limits, but the car failed to stop for blue lights and a chase ensued about 1:45 p.m.

The chase ended on Pee Dee Highway, but it was not clear if a suspect was arrested Wednesday or what charges may be pending. Thompson said it remains under investigation.
