— Fans of Chipotle Mexican Grill will have to wait a bit longer for the first Myrtle Beach location to open.

The planned opening Wednesday, announced by the company last week, has been delayed until June 19.

Workers are still putting the finishing touches on the new 2,257-square-foot restaurant at 1229 North Retail Court in a newly built strip shopping center outside Coastal Grand mall off Pine Island Road.

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating for about 90 people. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Chipotle is a fast casual eatery that allows diners to customize their burritos, tacos and other Mexican creations. Chipotle opened its first eatery in 1993 and has about 1,450 locations.
