Horry Council to delay consideration of Cool Springs tenant again

sjones@thesunnews.comJune 4, 2013

— Two items pertaining to a manufacturer moving into a shell building at the Cool Springs Business Park will be removed from Tuesday’s Horry County Council agenda at the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Mark Lazarus said.

It will be the second straight meeting that the item, known as Project Valentine, has been bumped from the agenda because of more negotiations with the company.

Under the deal that’s detailed in the agenda packet, the company would invest $3.6 million in the building by 2017, hire 108 employees and stand to gain a fee in lieu of taxes incentive from the county.

Items that will see action at the meeting include second reading and public review of the county’s fiscal 2014 budget and first reading of an ordinance that would establish licensing requirements and regulations for adult entertainment businesses.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the county administration building in Conway.
