— An Horry County man died Wednesday night, three days after he was involved in a motorcycle crash near Little River, according to authorities.

Devontae Shepherd, 19, of Mt. Zion Road died about 6 p.m. Wednesday while being treated at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for a head injury, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said Thursday afternoon.

Shepherd was involved in a motorcycle crash about 1 p.m. Sunday on Lincoln Heights Road, which is located off S.C. 90, Edge said. Shepherd was driving his motorcycle and apparently speeding when he lost control of the bike and hit a ditch, a fence and a driveway tile before stopping.

Troopers with the S.C. Highway Patrol were investigating the crash, but additional details were not available.
