Letter | VA should work without congressional help

May 23, 2013

Re May 23 letter by Richard DeLorge, “VA problems? Call your congressman”

The letter shows a bigger problem and the wrong solution. It should not be up to a congressman’s office to solve a veteran’s problems in getting the benefits he deserves.

What our congressman should be doing is investigating why it took his calling to get the results. Our government should work without congressional intervention. Perhaps this is where Tom Rice can start working to improve our country.

The writer lives in Pawleys Island.
