— The new show “Traveling Golfer” will make its television debut on the Grand Strand.

The show, based in Philadelphia and presented by Yuengling Brewery, debuted as an Internet show on Feb. 1 and has been airing on a network of websites that have been created for it.

The golf travel and lifestyles show, hosted by golf writer and broadcaster Tony Leodora, makes its traditional television debut Monday as part of the two-hour Press Box show that airs on HTC Cable channel 4 every Monday from 5-7 p.m.

Traveling Golfer will be a regular feature of the Press Box on the second Monday of every month, plus additional weeks when a special edition may air.

Myrtle Beach is the beginning of a national syndication effort with the Traveling Golfer. Its creators hope it becomes part of golf and sports talk shows across the country, and they are in the midst of negotiations to expand its reach.

“Our intent is to embed the Traveling Golfer in a number of quality golf and sports shows,” Leodora said. “The network of websites has been a great success, giving us access to so many viewers at any time of the day or night. Now, we want to build a similar network of television shows.”

Show executives say the network of host websites now reaches more than 700,000 monthly visitors and additional websites are being added.

The 15-minute show gives viewers a video tour of courses and golf resorts in the U.S. and abroad. The featured destination stays on the website for a month before being replaced by a new show, and past shows are archived on the home website,

Leodora is also the host of the GolfTalk Live radio show that originates in Philadelphia on WNTP 990AM and also airs on WOND 1400AM in south New Jersey as part of its syndication. Leodora has regular segments on Myrtle Beach golf and is broadcasting a few GolfTalk Live shows from the Strand.

It airs on, which is also part of the Traveling Golfer network of websites. Others include,,,, and

The Press Box is produced by the local Lucky Dog Television Productions. It is hosted by Allen smothers and produced by TV production veteran Donald Smith. Smothers plans to have Leodora on the show as a guest throughout the year. The Press Box began airing in February.

“Although we are a general sports show, you just can’t do a sports show in this area without golf being a part of it,” Smith said. “When we got the opportunity to add the Traveling Golfer to our monthly lineup, I was thrilled. Plus, to have Tony’s expertise with regard to the national golf scene as well as the Myrtle Beach golf scene, is a great addition to the show.”
