A Myrtle Beach man died Wednesday morning following a cardiac event that caused a car crash, said Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

Kenneth Baines, 55, of Myrtle Beach was taken to Waccamaw Hospital following a car crash where he later died, Fowler said.

The crash was reported at 8:10 a.m. at Holmestown Road and U.S. 17, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol’s website. Details of the crash were not immediately available from the highway patrol, but Fowler said the autopsy confirmed the car crash was secondary to the cardiac event.
