A Nevada woman, who was riding a horse, was taken by air to the hospital Tuesday night after a car crash in Conway, said Lance Cpl. Judd Jones with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

She steered the horse northbound onto the highway when she was hit by a 2010 Chrysler, Jones said.

The driver of the car was not injured, but the woman was flown to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The crash occurred about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday. Jones said there are no charges pending in the wreck and he did not know about the condition of the horse.
