— A woman whose body was found near the Robert Edge Parkway around 4:30 p.m. Friday has been identified.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick said the body was that of Amber Marie Berbiglia, 23, of the North Myrtle Beach/Little River area. Her body was spotted by a passerby on Green Village Drive and Sandridge Road, which runs under the Robert Edge Parkway between the Intracoastal Waterway and S.C. 31.

An autopsy was performed late Friday. Hendrick said there was no gunshot wound, but he could not give further details.

No other details were available from Horry County police, according to Sgt. Tom Del Percio.

Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler said police do not have any suspect information as of yet.

Kegler said police are asking for anyone who saw anybody at all who was walking on or standing on the Robert Edge bridge (at the top where the bridge meets the ground on the west side of the waterway) to call dispatch at 248-1520 and ask to speak to a Violent Crimes detective. He said there will be a team of six detectives investigating the incident today.
