— Horry County police are searching for a man suspected in the rape of a 19-year-old woman at his home in February, according to authorities.

Police issued arrest warrants for John Sachs, who lives on Belle Grove Drive in Myrtle Beach, in connection with the incident that occurred between 2 and 4 a.m. Feb. 9, Sgt. Robert Kegler said. The warrants charge Sachs with kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct, police said.

Horry County police were called early Feb. 10 to Conway Medical Center where the victim was being treated, according to the report. The victim told officers that two weeks prior she had started work as a waitress for Sachs, who owns Chez Joey – a gentleman’s club on Seaboard Street in Myrtle Beach.

The victim said Sachs asked her to his home so he could get a ride to the airport, according to the report. The victim said they left work about midnight Feb. 9, and headed for his home.

The victim said they were watching television when Sachs grabbed her keys and phone and hid them, according to the report. The victim said Sachs grabbed her and forced her into a bedroom where he raped her.

The victim told police she was able to get away from Sachs and go and hide in another room until Sachs left the house, according to the report. The victim told officers Sachs contacted her and told her to not return to work.

Later that day, the victim called the Rape Crisis Center for help.
