— Myrtle Beach police charged a 27-year-old man in a stabbing that happened in 2010, according to authorities.

Jeffery Allen Carr, 27, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill after he was booked into the Myrtle Beach Jail about 3 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report. An arrest report lists his home as Myrtle Beach, but jail records at J. Reuben Long Detention center, where he was initially booked on Thursday indicate he is from Hemingway.

Myrtle Beach police served an arrest warrant on Carr that stemmed from the April 20, 2010, stabbing of a 33-year-old man at an apartment on Pinegrove Drive, according to the report.

The victim told police he was attacked by two people and stabbed with a knife, according to the warrant.

In the report, officers noted that they learned the victim was stabbed while walking along Secondary Highway 15 and the victim went to his brother’s house where he collapsed and a neighbor called authorities. Officers learned from another person at the scene that the victim had been involved in an extramarital affair with Carr’s wife.

Officers found a kitchen knife in some bushes in the 1300 block of Secondary Highway 15, according to the report.
