MYRTLE BEACH — A Myrtle Beach man was charged after a 26-year-old woman told police he punched her during an argument, according to a police report.
Jalon Tyrone Tatum, 35, was charged with criminal domestic violence after officers were called at 9:30 p.m. Thursday to a home in the 800 block of Rogers Drive, police said.
The 26-year-old victim told officers that she and Tatum argued, but the report did not list what the couple argued about. The victim said she feared for her safety so she tried to leave, but Tatum would not let her.
The victim said Tatum got physical with her so she grabbed a flower holder and held it between herself and Tatum, but he grabbed it and hit her in the face and then punched her in the side, according to the report.
Tatum told police that the couple argued and the victim hit him in the head with the flower holder, so he took it and hit her in the face, according to the report. Officers noted the victim’s injuries were consistent with her story and Tatum did not have any visible injuries.
