Voting has opened in a contest that could help fund a dog park in Conway. James and Nora Battle approached Conway City Council about the contest last month.

The contest called “Bark for your Park” run by PetSafe, an invisible fencing company, will award one city with $100,000 and four others with $25,000. Winning the contest requires community support through the PetSafe website and the PetSafe Facebook page.

Conway City Council supports the idea of a dog park, said Mayor Alys Lawson and discussed building one during budget talks this year. Lawson said the city couldn’t find the funds for a park in this year’s budget. Construction of the park is an estimated $41,000.
