Myrtle Beach man accused of trying to steal purse is pepper sprayed twice by woman

— A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Wednesday after reportedly trying to steal a woman’s purse, according to an arrest report.

Roger D. Brown, 20, is charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.

Brown was arrested just before noon Wednesday on the 400 block of 14th Avenue North.

According to the report he tried to take a woman’s purse so she pepper sprayed him. He walked away but returned, grabbed the woman and started dragging her.

She pepper sprayed him a second time before police arrived.
