— A woman reported missing in the Myrtle Beach area was found in Monks Corner Thursday, said Capt. David Knipes with Myrtle Beach police.

Tamika Shipman, 23, was reported missing Wednesday night. She had left home at 6 p.m. Wednesday without telling her mother where she was going. After talking to her daughter at 8 p.m., the mother believed she was on her way home.

At 10:30 p.m., calls to Shipman’s cellphone went straight to voicemail. The mother said her daughter is a special needs child and the behavior was very unusual, Knipes said.

She was found in Monks Corner Thursday afternoon unharmed.
