Horry County police are trying to track a sender of an email that threatened Horry County Councilman Al Allen’s life last weekend.

Allen received an email Saturday saying “You must have been killed by now (God is your favor) but due to my investigation I hold but you will be trace and be killed the next six hours. Your life has been paid, no way to get out of my sniper why my three men in control to monitor your movement,” according to a police report.

Officers sent a search warrant to Verizon for all information belonging to the account that sent the email to Allen.

Allen currently represents Horry County District 11 and will be in a runoff with Mark Lazarus for the Horry County Council Chair seat next week.
