PAWLEYS ISLAND — A Nichols man was arrested when resident noticed a suspicious vehicle in the Pawleys Island area and called police, according to Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
Larry Dean Toombs, 51, is charged with third degree burglary.
Deputies responded about 1 a.m. Sunday to Tyson Drive and Kings River Road where a car and trailer were near a vacant home. Investigators noticed forced entry into the garage.
When deputies stopped the car, Toombs claimed he was lost, but later cooperated with investigators, Cuthbertson said.
He is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
