MYRTLE BEACH — A Myrtle Beach taxi driver told police he was robbed and his taxi door was shot when he tried to wrestle the gun away from the robber, according to a police report.
The 59-year-old man called officers at 9:10 p.m. Sunday to report in the area of 17th Avenue South and Robert Grissom Parkway he was robbed, police said.
The victim said the robber had a gun and he tried to get it, but during the struggle the gun went off and the bullet struck the interior of the driver’s door, according to the report. The victim said the robber took his cash before he ran into the nearby wooded area.
The victim left the area and drove to Coastal Grand Mall where he called police, according to the report. No other details were listed in the report.
